What We Do
Ecolibri USA partners with nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) already working in the villages that surround Lake Atitlan, a beautiful yet impoverished region of the Guatemalan highlands. Focused on basics needs, such as clean water, nutritious meals, quality education and decent housing, EcolibriUSA provides financial, volunteer and material resources to those working to help the people of the region create a better life for themselves and their families.
-
Education
We sponsor students in all levels of education by supporting access to school supplies and lunch to alleviate the burden on families as kids go through their school years. By donating just $1 a day, you can be part of this incredible initiative.
-
Skills Building
We equip children with skills they can carry through their life and allow them a window into possible future trades and life skills.
-
Environment
We provide access to clean water in villages to families by the use of eco-filters in their homes as a means to improve health and decrease risk of water-borne illnesses.
-
Food
In moments of crises, such as the COVID19 pandemic, we provide food to the community for nourishment and to alleviate food insecurity.
-
Mentorship
We provide mentorship to our students, many of whom remain with us as they advance through school and eventually gain skills to be self-sufficient and productive members of the society.
-
Empowerment
We empower local businesses by show casing and selling their products in the US, be it coffee or hand-made clothing accessories, to fund other programs.
-
After school
We sponsor projects that encourage creativity and personal expression, collaborating with professional artists, photographers, and musicians hosting workshops in photography and music with students.
